Movie Haiku:Another family drama based on a John Irving novel, depicting the dire consequences that ensue when parents are too self-absorbed. Jan saw a SOPHIE’S CHOICE redux, a teenage boy’s coming-of-age rescue fantasy. Rich thinks that’s too harsh; he was moved by Basinger’s tragic beauty & Bridges’ fraying mask of command.
