Movie Haiku:SPLIT DECISION: Jan was absolutely overcome by the end of this passionate epic about young lovers separated by the Berlin Wall in 1961. Alas, the more she sobbed, the more Rich laughed. For Jan, this film’s an expert dramatization of the thesis “the personal is political.” To Rich, it’s melodrama.
