Movie Haiku:Wonderful film that breaks through the constraints of Chinese Wuxia, embracing a fully operatic range of emotions: passion, jealousy, revenge, all that supposedly “Western” stuff. Credit beautiful Zhang Ziyi, who showed her inner fire in CROUCHING TIGER & HERO, & is finally allowed to explode here. Yeah, lotsa swordplay too.
