Movie Haiku:Hyper-intense Hitchcockian nighmare. Uniformly terrific performances headed by Dench as a lonely spinster infatuated with her school’s new art teacher (Blanchett). Filled with gray (everyone’s got tragic flaws), shot with a bluish cast, & accompanied by a terrifically overwrought Phillip Glass score. But Rich felt manipulated by some plot dynamics...
