Movie Haiku:What a surprise: in between Western classics like WINCHESTER ’73, Mann & Stewart filmed this affectionate tribute to the great bandleader “last seen flying over the English Channel” right after D-Day. The tale as told is indeed a bit sticky, but in a good way, & the music is totally fabulous.
