Movie Haiku:Rich was originally confused by the book-based title, but Jan convinced him that the central character in this adaptation is Ashima (Tabu) not Gogol (Penn). Nair brings her own life experience to this eloquent masterpiece about a woman making a home & building a family in a strange new world.
