| Movie Haiku: | JAN: NOT RECOMMENDED!!! This is the kind of movie in which "the bad guy" rescues "the heroine" precisely to shock her with a long speech revealing himself as "the bad guy" (as if we hadn't already guessed, d'uh). With Verhoeven as auteur, our "Jewish" heroine (van Houten) is literally rescued from a pool of shit, & she eludes death by cramming her mouth full of chocolate. This is a terrible movie, & Jewish audiences, in particular, should steer clear of this campy excuse for Holocaust exploitation. RICH: It's an OK movie/movie, but no more... | ADDITIONAL FF2 INFO ABOUT THIS FILM: | Women filmmakers? | No | Jewish content? | Yes | Haiku Posted: | 2007 | |
