Movie Haiku:Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio hits a homer as a honky-tonk singer with a sulky teenage daughter & a new man in her life carrying hidden heavy baggage. If only director John Sayles had compromised his principles by writing a happy ending, he might have had a hit. Great soundtrack too.
