Movie Haiku:Deep South circa 1950: dawn of electrified R&B. Huge ensemble cast is uniformly excellent with breakout performance by Clark augmented by period songs knit together by Mason Daring’s terrific original score. Typically Sayles lays out all the puzzles pieces of complex microworld, then snaps them exuberantly together in the finale.
