Movie Haiku:The battle scenes seem sterile after the intensity of SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, nevertheless, this ‘60’s epic succeeds by assembling an enormous international cast to tell the D-Day story from all primary points of view: American, British, French & German. Miles wide but inches deep, the final effect is documentary sweep.
