Movie Haiku:American-born director goes in search of the China in his grandfather''s stories & becomes fascinated by families dislocated by the Three Gorges Dam. Most of the film focuses on a girl renamed "Cindy" when she starts working on a Yangtze River tour boat, but the counterpoint story of a boy renamed "Jerry" gets in the way.
