Movie Haiku:New gunner (Donat) is dropped into a tank on the first day of Israel''''s 1982 invasion of Lebanon. He''''''''s never fired in action before, his tank mates are all strangers, & he doesn''''''''t have a clue. Battle sequences reverberate with the ring of truth, but conversations in between go thud. Rich suspended disbelief, living in the moment; Jan wanted more realistic character development.
