Movie Haiku:First half is well-crafted, melancholy Victoriana with kindly Lawrence Talbot (Del Toro) learning horrible secrets about his family tree. Then 2nd half piles on the SFX as Hopkins goes over the top as his crazy dad "Lord John." Caught in the middle is Blunt, lovely in a supporting role until it all gets so stupid that we couldn't care much anymore.
