| Movie Haiku: | Conceptual artist Vik Muniz lives in trendy Brooklyn now but grew up in Sao Paulo. In WASTE LAND he returns to Brazil to document the lives of "pickers" in the huge dump outside Rio. We really wanted to like this film, but it just felt a bit too self-congratulatory: too many beautiful faces smiling just a bit too hard for the camera :-( |
