Movie Haiku:Set up as a romantic comedy about an idealistic young doctor who must find his life's work and his mate, this film shows the invention of the vibrator in the 1880s, & just below its pretty surface, explores women's roles & the thrill of discovering full personhood (including sexuality) at the dawn of the Progressive Era. Settlement Houses?!? Suffragists?!? Hooray!!!
