Rich's Rating:

3 out of 5

4 out of 5

Key Performances:

  Leonardo DiCaprio
  Jamie Foxx
  Samuel L. Jackson
  Christoph Waltz
  Kerry Washington
Movie Haiku:Starts out so good... Waltz is terrific as an urbane European befuddled by Antebellum American mores circa 1858, but Foxx & Washington are wasted in a hackneyed slave romance, & DiCaprio & Jackson are way over-the-top. After 2 hours Jan wanted to flee, but days later RB found himself still entranced by the transformation of "a Western" into "a Southern."
