Movie Haiku:Good intentions overwhelm cast, flattening what should be soul-stirring BioPic. Jackie Robinson was a great American--soldier, sportsman, role model for millions--but Helgeland keeps his star (Boseman) on a very short leash & the real man is lost in all the cleaned-up, very pretty, "authentic" period details. Meanwhile Ford, as Branch Rickey, gets lost in his make-up.
