Movie Haiku:Triumphant moment in Allen''s up/down career with a brilliant central performance by Blanchett as the widow of a Madoff-like character (Baldwin) forced to move in with her sister (Hawkins) after his crimes bankrupt her. Jasmine is a bitch but she also embodies our time: abused by those who look us straight in the face & lie, but willfully blind to our own complicity. Not perfect but damn good!
