Movie Haiku:Bernice (Hamilton) has lost her son & enlists Fontayne (Ross)in a search that leads them into the perilous business of smuggling illegals across the US border. More conventional than most Sayles plots, but filled with terrific characters & pointed observations about lives few other filmmakers even care about. But without a villain other than "the system," the whole lacks urgency.
