| | Movie Haiku: | In his first feature, Berry relies on excellent actors to tell a heart-felt story of good people trying to hold fast to their principles on both sides of the US/Mexico border, while very bad people on both sides exploit the most vulnerable. Harris & Peņa are both terrific with good support from Madigan & Longoria, but some cheap melodrama undermines their best efforts. |
