Movie Haiku:Buddy (Rispoli) returns from WWII to his Italian-American enclave on Staten Island, where dreams are modest and routines are circumscribed. To his wife’s dismay, he buys a house in the Irish neighborhood. By film’s end, Buddy has broken through numerous barriers in this well-meaning, heart-warming character study.
