Movie Haiku:Washington’s directorial debut is all heart, but needs more head. Although based on a true story, the plot’s reduced to its most predictable elements: a boy born into hopeless circumstances is eased into manhood through the timely intervention of a therapist (with no professional boundaries) who becomes his father figure.
