Movie Haiku:Film begins like an ordinary “guys in high school” flick then grows darker & deeper with great subtlety. In this case “the guys” are all Asian-American, & their coming-of-age carries the burden of conforming to our stereotype of a “model minority.” Camerawork is a bit too self-conscious, but still effective.
