Key Performances:

  Gabriel Byrne

  Julia Ormond
  Venessa Rodgrave
Movie Haiku:Julia Ormond is surprisingly effective in this claustrophobic thriller set in Scandinavia. A little boy dies. The police think it’s an accident, but the boy’s neighbor is suspicious. Smilla is tough & angry & determined. Gabriel Byrne is another neighbor who seems sympathetic, but Smillia is short on trust.
